The cross-examination of Brigadier Bongani Gininda, the lead investigator in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial continues in the High Court in Pretoria.

Defense counsel Advocate Zandile Mshololo has been questioning Gininda about the assault case against accused number one Muzi Sibiya at Tembisa police station.

Mshololo put it to Gininda that he was supposed to report the assault to the Independent Police Investigative Directorate for investigation.

But Gininda says he was not presented with entries that show the accused was assaulted.

Mshololo: My next question is my lord, with that complaint, which was reported in a court of law, which was related to you brigadier as the head of the unit. What did you do with that complaint because this act is precisely referred to the IPID for further investigations.

Gininda: What do I comply with when you don’t have the existing A1 of any document of even an eyewitness who says I have witnessed such an assault.
