Missing hiker found dead on Table Mountain trail

A hiker who went missing over the past weekend on the Table Mountain Devil’s Peak Hiking trail in the Western Cape has been found dead.

SANParks spokesperson Babalwa Dlangamandla says the hiker left her accommodation on Saturday afternoon and was reported missing after her friends did not hear from her.

She says the woman’s tracking app also did not update when she left her residence.

Her body was spotted by an aircraft deployed by the City of Cape Town.

Dlangamandla says the circumstances around the hiker’s death are still being investigated.
