The Tshwane council meeting where the Executive Mayor, Cilliers Brink will face a motion of no confidence, sponsored by the ANC has started.
Brink says the metro will face service delivery disruptions if a new government takes over.
The ANC says the current leadership has further plunged the city into debts. The city has been battling financial and political instability for a while now.
DA former coalition partner, Action SA has also turned its back on Brink, after it ended its relationship with the DA.
Brink addressed DA supporters picketing outside Tshwane house ahead of the motion.
“We stand with the people of Tshwane and anybody who stands in the future must think of we take these people out who do we put on their place. If we stop what they’re busy with, what’s going to happen to the future of the capital city. And this is the point where leaders must take responsibility. A leader is not somebody win takes credit for themselves and blames their patterns for everything that goes wrong.”
