Mpumalanga court sentences notorious gang leaders to 5 life sentences

The Mpumalanga High Court in Mbombela has sentenced two notorious gang leaders to five life sentences and an additional 50 years for a series of crimes they committed in Marite near Hazyview.

Skhumbuzo Mpangane and Bonginkosi Shakoane were facing murder, attempted murder and assault with intent to cause grievously bodily harm, kidnapping, arson, house breaking and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition charges.

The crimes were committed between 2020 and 2021.
