My heart was shattered into countless pieces: AKA’s mum

The memorial service for slain musician Kiernan Forbes, known as AKA, has concluded at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg. Tribute after tribute have been poured out for the star, from fellow musicians to family members.

His mum Lynn Forbes also paid tribute to her son, saying he was violently and callously taken from her.

She added that she has a responsibility to his fans that supported him for two decades.

In her speech she says, ” Today a week ago my heart was shattered into countless pieces. But today and every other day going forward, it will not just be about me, the rest of our family, extended family and friends. It will be about the ‘Megacy’ as our broader family. I believe that is what Kiernan would have wanted.”
