N Cape woman sentenced to 15 years for partner’s murder in 2019

A Northern Cape woman has been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment by the Kakamas Regional Court for the murder of her partner in 2019 at Langverwag Kakamas.

33-year-old Mabebe Olyn had an argument with her partner at the time when she stabbed him with a knife.

Provincial police spokesperson Nelis Prins says, “The court heard that the deceased and the accused, who were in a relationship at the time of the incident, were involved in an argument when she stabbed him in the back with a knife, resulting in his death. The thorough investigation by Warrant Officer Kaypo Matthys of Kakamas detectives led to the subsequent arrest and conviction of the accused.”
