Nelson Mandela Bay Metro tackles water disruptions

The Nelson Mandela Bay Metro in the Eastern Cape has implemented a comprehensive plan to tackle the current water disruptions affecting various areas within the region.

Among the measures being taken is the deployment of water tankers to provide relief to the affected communities in Emerald Hill Zone, New Brighton and Kariega.

Joseph Tsatsire, the metro’s Director of Water Distribution, has assured citizens that efforts are under way to identify the root cause of the water disruptions. While troubleshooting is ongoing, Tsatsire apologised for any inconvenience caused due to the disruptions.

He stated, “I would like to inform the Metro citizens that we are experiencing water disruptions in Emerald Hill zone, New Brighton, and Kariega. Our teams are currently troubleshooting to establish the real cause, and we apologise for the inconvenience caused. Our water continuity plan will involve deploying water trucks, and updates on their locations will be communicated through our social media pages.”

The metro is addressing the water challenges with the aim of minimising the impact on residents and ensuring a steady supply of water during the disruptions.
