Self-proclaimed prophet Paseka Motsoeneng, also known as Pastor Mboro, is today expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court east of Johannesburg for a bail application.

Previously, his lawyer Advocate Phillip Dlamini told the court that his client was being denied his constitutional rights.

Mboro and his relative, who is also a bodyguard, are facing 12 charges including kidnapping, possession of an unlicensed firearm, discharging a firearm, assault and malicious damage to property.

This follows a video that went viral on social media last month showing Mboro wielding a panga and threatening teachers at the Matsediso Primary School in Katlehong.

His bodyguard was carrying a firearm and the two allegedly forcibly took two of Mboro’s grandchildren from the school.

Following the incident, his church was set alight allegedly by angry community members and pupils from the school.
