Police Minister Senzo Mchunu to visit uMlazi mass shooting scene

Police Minister Senzo Mchunu is due to visit the scene of a mass shooting that took place in Umlazi in Durban at the weekend.

He is expected to be accompanied by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.

According to police, unknown attackers first shot 3 people as they sat drinking outside their rented dwelling in an informal settlement in Umlazi on Saturday night.

The attackers then went to the home of the owner of the dwelling. They shot him and another man who was in the house at the time. Along the way, a sixth person was shot dead.

There have been at least 4 other mass shootings in KwaZulu-Natal so far this year.
