Police search for suspects in reported rape of elderly woman in FS

Free State police have launched a manhunt for three unknown armed suspects who allegedly attacked and raped an elderly woman in Bergman Square in Bloemfontein.

Police spokesperson Mahlomola Kareli says the 65-year-old woman was in her house with her grandson when they heard someone breaking down their door.

Three unknown men armed with knives stormed into the house and demanded money.

The suspects took cash and electronics they found in the house, this before they allegedly stabbed her 15-year-old grandson in the head and arm.

One of the suspects allegedly raped her repeatedly.

The victim screamed alerting the neighbours to come to her rescue.

All three suspects fled and are yet to be arrested.

The police are investigating a case of house robbery and rape.
