President Cyril Ramaphosa says he wants to push for more investment and vaccinations in Africa. President Ramaphosa is in Germany for a two-day visit to meet with Chancellor Angela Merkel.
President Ramaphosa arrives in Germany:
President Ramaphosa touched down in Berlin at the invitation of Merkel.
The two leaders will discuss a range of bilateral and regional issues as part of a busy two-day schedule. President Ramaphosa will participate in a special meeting of African leaders, a gathering known as a G20 Compact with Africa. This forum was set up in 2017 and it is designed to promote private investment especially from Europe into the African continent.
The initiative includes other African economies including Ethiopia, Rwanda, Egypt and Senegal.
The Presidency says that President Ramaphosa’s short visit will be full of discussions on how to support and increase foreign investment in South Africa.
The discussions provided an opportunity for the President and German businesses operating in South Africa to have robust discussions about some of the challenges and opportunities of doing business in South Africa. pic.twitter.com/bk9i1oXLMi
