The Principal of Pretoria Girls High School has been suspended for three months.

This has just been announced by Gauteng MEC for Education Matome Chiloane.

This follows the suspension of 12 learners last week.

They are implicated in a controversy involving racial comments and complaints about black learners.

The learners were suspended over a week ago, following allegations of participating in a WhatsApp group that contained racial comments, micro-aggressions and complaints about black students.

In anticipation of the disciplinary hearings, security measures had been heightened at the school, with increased police presence, including Nyalas patrolling the area.
