The African National Congress (ANC) president Cyril Ramaphosa says he’s happy that South Africans are warming up to the upcoming elections.

He was in Soweto on Saturday to campaign for the ANC during the Electoral Commission’s second voter registration process.

Ramaphosa says citizens have also responded positively to the registration process.

“It’s a good weekend and there’s a lot of enthusiasm. I get the sense that people want to vote and they’ve been asking me, when are we voting. So I think the community and the population is really getting into the voting mood. Once we announce the election date soon everybody will be in top gear so I’m really delighted to have had this time.”
