Vaccine hesitancy

The Solidarity Fund’s Doctor Saul Johnson says South Africans should stop thinking that natural immunity will protect them from COVID-19. The country is faced with vaccination hesitancy, and the Health Department and other institutions held a webinar in a bid to change attitudes.

So far, just more than 13 030 588 people have been fully vaccinated. That is about 32.74 % of adults.

The government’s target is to have at least 70% of the population vaccinated by Christmas. The government has been aiming to administer at least 300 000 vaccinations per day.
