South African National Parks (SANParks) has embarked on infrastructure refurbishment and road maintenance in the Kruger National Park.

Some of the roads in Kruger Park have been fixed to ensure the smooth travelling of tourists when visiting the park.

SANParks Spokesperson, Ike Phaahla says the infrastructure investment and road maintenance are priorities that are considered critical factors in the enhancement of customer experience.

He says the refurbishment of infrastructure such as tourism facilities has been an ongoing concern since July 2022.

“The current infrastructure refurbishment projects have created over 1,000 new jobs and continue to offer neighbouring SMMEs an opportunity to transact with the park, which bodes well for the development of the rural economy. The facilities which have been refurbished and are complete and operational include, Lower Sabie Petrol Station, and Sweni Trails Camp Several tourism units have gone through refurbishment at various camps and are completed,” he said.
