[Sensitive] KZN teacher gets 2 life sentences for raping minor boys

A 60-year-old teacher has been handed two life sentences in the Vryheid Regional Court in northern KwaZulu-Natal for raping two boys who were four and five-years-old in 2019.

The court has heard that the boys were sent to a nearby shop at which the accused called them to his home. Once inside his house, the accused raped both boys.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, Robert Netshiunda says the accused was a teacher at the school the boys attended.

“After raping them he gave them two rand and instructed them not to tell anyone. The rape was noticed by one of the boys’ mothers who inspected her child after he complained of pain in his buttocks. The boy told his mother of the rape ordeal. The matter was reported to the police who acted swiftly and arrested the suspect. The man, who was a teacher at the school the boys attended, remained in custody until the sentencing.”
