In a statement, Sibanye-Stillwater announced it implemented immediate containment measures upon discovering the incident.

Sibanye-Stillwater, a multinational mining and metals processing group, reported that the investigation into the attack is ongoing, with limited disruption to its global operations.

The company stated its focus remains on fully remediating the effects of the attack. Sibanye-Stillwater is voluntarily reporting the incident to appropriate regulators and will provide further updates as necessary.
