Structural engineer to assess Woodstock building blaze

A structural engineer is this week expected to inspect a badly damaged building in Woodstock, Cape Town that caught alight on Tuesday afternoon.

Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson, Jermaine Carelse, says an assessment of the double-storey structure will determine the way forward.

He says half the building in Albert Road has collapsed following the blaze.

One person was injured during the incident and the cause of the fire will be investigated.
