Premier Soccer League defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns were just too good for Marumo Gallants. Sundowns beat Gallants 4-1 at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.
Forward Tashreeq Matthews opened the scoring as early as the 8th minute for the Brazilians. Iqraam Rayners doubled Sundowns lead in the 34th minute.
Brazilian Lucas Ribeiro made it 3-nil, before Sphelele Mkhulise scored the fourth for Sundowns.
Malawian Gabadinho Mhango missed a penalty in the second half for Gallants, before redeeming himself a few minutes later.
