Suspected stock thieves, alleged ring leader arrested in Botlokwa

Limpopo police say two suspected stock thieves, including a suspected ring leader, have been arrested at Botlokwa.

Police spokesperson, Malesela Ledwaba, says one suspect was arrested on the road while the other at his home after fleeing.

They were driving two vehicles carrying suspected stolen cattle from a village outside Louis Trichardt.

Police say they had manned a roadblock and when they stopped two vehicles, one managed to evade them.

Police say their investigations led them to a village in Botlokwa, were a suspected ring leader of stock theft was arrested.

The arrests happened after a communal stock farmer opened case. He had lost seven cattle.

Some vehicles carrying stock were later spotted in the Botlokwa area were the suspected ring leader was arrested.
