Team SA with four medals with three days to go at Paralympics

With only three days to the end of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, the South African Paralympic team has made strides in the recent events.

South Africa has won four medals thus far in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. The medals include one gold and three bronze medals.

On Wednesday, Donald Ramphadi and Lucas Sithole defeated their Brazilian opponents and won the bronze medal in the Wheelchair Tennis Quad Doubles event at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

Donald Ramphadi and Lucas Sithole won a medal in a Tennis Quad Doubles match with a compelling bronze medal victory of 6-2, 4-6, 10-8. They are the first South Africans to win a medal in wheelchair tennis at the Paralympic Games and Africa’s first wheelchair tennis medal.

Para-cyclist Pieter du Preez won the third medal for Team South Africa, in the Men’s H1 Individual Time Trial after finishing an individual time of 36:07.05.

On Monday, Louzanne Coetzee improved Team South Africa’s medal count at the 2024 Paralympics, winning a bronze medal in the 1500m at the Stade de France.

Team South Africa’s first medal at the 2024 Paralympics in Paris was won by Mpumelelo Mhlongo, who won gold in the men’s 100m T44 event.

The Paris 2024 Paralympics Games will conclude on 8 September 2024. With only a few days remaining, South Africans have been celebrating the remarkable achievements of their athletes.
