Coup d’état, also called a coup is the overthrowing of an existing government by a small group. The chief requirement for a coup is control of all or part of the armed forces, the police and other military elements.

Gabon and Niger have been trending lately for coups that are took place in those countries. Gabon announced General Brice Oligui Nguema as transition leader following the overthrowing of President Ali Bongo.
