The Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA) says it is encouraging to see rising revenue in the sector.

This as the country recovers from a tourism slump due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

September marks Tourism Month and the council says it has put in place several initiatives to attract local and international tourists to explore South Africa.

The council’s CEO Tshifhiwa Tshivhengwa says, “We do come from a time where COVID-19 damaged the sector. We had very few people traveling domestic or international inbound, but since the lifting of all the restrictions, we have seen a great number of tourists come back in SA, from our market like Europe, North America and the African continent and we assume it to grow in Asia and China.”
