Two separate accidents in Gauteng claim 6 lives on Heritage Day

Six people have died following two separate car crashes in Gauteng on Heritage Day.

One accident occurred on the N12 south of Johannesburg and the other in Randfontein west of Johannesburg.

Gauteng Traffic Police spokesperson Sello Maremane has urged road users to exercise care and caution this long weekend.

“A heavy motor vehicle overturned next to Klip Rivier offramp where four people have died. In a separate incident in Randfontein, two bakkies collided leaving two people dead. We are concerned about the attitude of our road users. Many of these roads fatalities are happening as a result of unsafe overtaking, overspeeding, reckless and negligent driving.”
