Nearly 300 delegates from the United States and African countries are expected to attend the ReSURGEnce business and investment conference in Durban this week.

The conference is aimed at promoting black businesses in the United States and business ties with Africans in other parts of the world.

It is the first time that the conference is being held in Africa.

eThekwini Mayor Cyril Xaba says the conference is aimed at promoting business ties, exports and investment opportunities.

Black businesspeople from Durban will have the opportunity to exhibit their businesses during the conference.

eThekwini municipal manager Musa Mbhele elaborates: “The ReSURGEnce Conference is more than just a gathering. It is an engagement of thought leaders and a platform that will forge strong ties between local businesses and international investors.”

“By fostering these connections, we are creating opportunities for our local entrepreneurs to thrive, innovate and to also expand their horizons in business. This conference embodies the spirit of black economic empowerment in practise, at a project level [and] at a deal breaking level,” adds Mbhele.
