V&A Waterfront Marina gets another Blue Flag

Cape Town’s V and A Waterfront Marina has for the fifth year running been awarded Blue Flag status for excellence in safety, amenities, cleanliness and meeting environmental standards.

The iconic Blue Flag is one of the world’s most recognised voluntary eco-labels awarded to beaches, marinas and sustainable boating tourism operators.

The award was handed over by the Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa.

V and A Waterfront head of communications Donald Kau says, “It’s a tourist attraction but the waterfront is very much a working harbour . We have facilities, we have a whole fishing industry and charters and luxury yachts in the Mariner. This recognition talks to our commitment to tourism but also the preservation of the marine ecosystem at the V and A waterfront environment.”
