Voting for Rwandans in diaspora under way

Rwandans in South Africa, Madagascar, Lesotho, Namibia, and Mauritius, are ready to cast their vote for the 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.

Rwandans in the diaspora are voting on Sunday, while elections will be conducted in Rwanda on Monday.

Polling stations are available at the following locations:

  • Antananarivo, Madagascar: Akoa Hotel
  • Maseru, Lesotho: Avani Lesotho Hotel
  • Grand Bei, Mauritius: Mauritel Motozone
  • Cape Town, South Africa: Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC)
  • Durban, South Africa: Olive Convention Centre
  • Pretoria, South Africa: Rwanda High Commission in South Africa

The High Commissioner of the Republic of Rwanda in South Africa, H.E. Emmanuel Hategeka, emphasizes the importance of this election for Rwandans abroad.

“This election is a crucial opportunity for the Rwandan community abroad to have their voices heard and contribute to the democratic process of our nation. We have worked diligently to ensure that every Rwandan living in our jurisdictions has access to a polling station.”

Voters are reminded to bring their ID or Consular Card to the polling stations to be eligible to vote.
