In another accident, six members of uMkhonto weSizwe Party, lost their lives in a taxi crash in Kranskop.

Others died in a crash at Stanger along the N2. An investigation has been launched and two cases of culpable homicide have been opened.

Duma elaborates. “We have declared this week as a week of mourning in KZN and we are mobilising campaigns in the province and all religious leaders in the province to embark on a week of prayer and pray to God to give us strength. As KwaZulu-Natal members of the community, neighbours and friends we are called to dig deep from our soul. We have in the past stood firm and supported each in this difficult time. We have resolved to speed the revival of family structures that will link the department in all corners of the province. We are re-establishing rural road community forums which will be located to each ward.”
