The uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party’s Secretary-General Arthur Zwane has returned to office with immediate effect.
This, after the party leader, Jacob Zuma rejected his resignation.
Zwane handed in his letter of resignation on July 1, citing a large workload and his intention to pursue personal ventures.
The MK Party attributes one of the reasons for the rejection of Zwane’s resignation letter, to the party’s founding strategic workshop, aimed at strengthening its organisational structures for future elections.
Sifiso Maseko, who occupied the role of Secretary-General during Zwane’s departure, has moved to champion the party’s Human Resources sector.
The party says given the current situation under the ANC-DA coalition, it wants to uphold principles of leadership and unity, citing continuing in their ranks as more important than ever.
The MK says it has vowed to build a strong and resilient party.
