Mnangagwa hits back at US administration over sanctions

Zimbabwean President, Emmerson Mnangagwa has hit back at the US administration after Treasury imposed targeted sanctions on him including the Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.

The US says the sanctions are not aimed at punishing ordinary citizens.

It says they are aimed at those who have violated the human rights in that country.

Mnangagwa says the sanctions are illegal.

“You can’t impose sanctions on a country which has not offended you. We say absolute nonsense.”
