The African National Congress (ANC) Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula says the party has confidence in the people that are on its candidates’ list.

He says they are ready to work with all South Africans to implement the party’s 2024 election manifesto.

Mbalula was addressing the media in Johannesburg.

“The qualifications and combined experience of our 2024 candidates, reflects a party that has gained enormous experience in governance and development.”

“The new additions to our list bring with them experience in civil society, business, the youth, trade union movements and traditional leadership which will only enrich how we govern and represent people over the coming five years,” adds Mbalula.

Earlier, ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa added that the party had nothing to hide on its candidates’ list.

The list was leaked on social media on Friday.

This prompted Mbalula to write to the Electoral Commission, requesting it to investigate the circumstances that led to the leak.
