Manhunt launched for killers of off-duty Mitchells Plain cop

Western Cape Minister of Police Oversight and Community Safety, Reagen Allen says he is outraged at the murder of a law enforcement officer over the weekend in Mitchells Plain.

LEAP officer, Toufeeq Williams who was off duty at the time of the incident, was walking in the area with his daughter when he got caught in gang crossfire.

Allen says a manhunt has been launched for the perpetrators.

“I want the ones who made the firearms available to them to also be directly charged with murder. In fact, all of them should be hit with the entire prevention of the organised crime act. Any person whether in uniform or civilian that assist in protection of these gangsters can expect the same treatment. I want to assure officer William’s family that his death will not be in vain. We will not leave any stone unturned; arrest and lengthy sentences must follow.”
