Deputy Minister of Small Business Dipuo Peters has filed an urgent application in the Western Cape High Court to stop Parliament from implementing her one-month suspension.

Her suspension will begin on the 30th of this month.

Peters has been suspended for a month after the Ethics Committee found her guilty of breaching the Code of Ethics for members of Parliament when she was the Minister of Transport.

The matter will be heard on Friday.

Peters was found guilty of failure to appoint a group CEO at PRASA, after a recruitment process which ran into thousand of rands.

In addition, she was found to have breached the code for dismissing the board of this entity as well as requesting PRASA buses to be used for ANC celebrations on 8 January 2015, which were not paid for.

She wants the court to order Parliament to stop implementing the ruling pending judicial review of the whole decision.
