One of the four South African National Defence Force (SANDF) soldiers who tragically died from carbon monoxide poisoning earlier this month in Orkney, North West, will be laid to rest in Kimberley on Saturday.

The deceased soldiers will receive military honours. The soldiers were found dead inside a container structure which was used as a guard house.

They were deployed to guard a disused mine, as part of Operation Vala Umgodi aimed at combating illegal mining. Their bodies had no injuries and their rifles and personal belongings were still with them.
